What feels like it’s never-ending, the mess that is 2020 that is, new beauty brands have remained able to continue with their launch plans. I have seven brands here to show you, in case you went off news consumption for a little moment.
I will go in order of launch dates, and one not yet launched! PREVIEW!
Hermes lipsticks – March 4th
At $67 USD each lipstick, it’s steep, but you would expect nothing less from a heritage brand like Hermes, and for most of us this might likely be the only item our bank accounts say we can buy from the brand.
The lipsticks look stunning, also in the range is a universal lip pencil and a lip brush with a hand-painted wooden base that looks like an incredible vanity piece.
One/Size by Patrick Starrr – July 30th
Available at Sephora US, Social media superstar, Patrick Starrr, has launched with two makeup removing products which is a unique category to start with. One product type I have never heard of is a Makeup Dissolving Mist, I would be interested in trying it. The later product, not so much my cup of tea is the Juiciest Makeup Remover Wipes, to know why I’m not in favour of wipes you can read here.
Item Beauty by Addison Rae – August 11th
Addison Rae, 19-year-old TikTok superstar, known for her fun dance videos has launched a beauty line, starting with six products in bright fun packaging. With affordable pricing for her young audience at $12 to $22.
Lauren Conrad Beauty by Lauren Conrad – August 12th
With an eco-friendly direction, lipstick packaging that’s recyclable without the need to dissemble, the vegan line has now ten products.
Lauren said, “I’ve wanted to do a beauty line for a long time—it was just a matter of finding the right partners and the right situation. I’ve actually started and stopped this process several times, we’d start talking to someone and sampling products, and it just didn’t feel like the right partnership”.
Rare Beauty – September 3rd
Selena Gomez has launched her beauty line, focusing on inner beauty and mental health, available on their own website and Sephora. It’s an extensive line with base products and colour products. She has alongside this launched the Rare Beauty Impact fund, donating 1% of annual sales to this fund to support mental health and access to mental health services.
Makeup By Mario – October 1st
An entirely self-funded line, Mario Dedivanovic will have his just launched brand sold in Sephora, a real full circle as that’s where he started in the makeup industry 20 years ago. With 21 products at launch Mario says “My greatest hope is that this collection inspires play and experimentation—that each product enhances your artistry, elevates your application, and evolves your technique,”
Byredo – Launch Mid-October
With the eye-catching architectural design to the packaging and knowing Makeup Artist Isamaya Ffrench who I hugely admire, worked on this launch alongside Byredo founder & creative Director Ben Gorham, this has totally sparked my interest!
Launching with mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks and colour sticks in varying shades. Will be keeping my eye on this brand, the campaign images are amazing.
