Three Products to Fake Fabulous Skin!

by | Jun 7, 2020 | MAKEUP

So you’re having a season of bad skin, and wondering what you can do to give the illusion of fabulous skin? We’ve all been there – especially in cities like Hong Kong where pollution and humidity can trip all of us up! In this post, I’m going to run through my top tricks to fake flawless – remembering these are only ‘band-aid’ solutions, however. For the long term, you should look into skincare products that can help the skin structure itself, and ensure lifestyle and diet are on point for the best skin you can have! But in the meantime… try these makeup items!

1. Tinted moisturiser or sheer foundation

I prefer tinted products over full coverage when it comes to fake fabulous skin. Often foundation can look like you’re trying to hide something (which you are but we don’t want people to know that right?!). Tinted or sheer foundations, like M.A.C face and body, are just perfection for this. They will even out the skin tone a bit, and help bring down any redness; it’s not really about totally masking the problem areas, more just dulling them down.

2. Cream Highlight (Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter)

This product was the first of its kind, and it’s a game-changer. A hybrid between a highlighter and light foundation mixed into one. You can use this on the cheekbones and all the places you highlight. To make dry skin really glow, mix it into your tinted moisturiser to give it a boost. Fabulous skin has the glow from within so we’re trying to create that, without going too far and looking shiny.

3. Pink Lipstick

Sounds rogue… but har me out. I don’t mean a full-on pink lipstick, but more applying it like a stain; dabbing just a little on the lips and pressing it in with your finger. While you’re at it, add to the glow further and dab some on your cheeks for a cream blush effect. Adding some subtle colour to the lips will always brighten the skin, giving you a fresh healthy look and fooling them into thinking you’re having a good skin day!

Lastly, don’t forget to start with hydrated moisturised skin and always apply sunscreen babes!

Here are a few products I recommend trying from these three categories.
