Makeup rules are meant to be broken, stay away from the straight and narrow, try blurred and wide! One of the reasons I like doing this lip style is that it gives fuller-looking lips, without doing the hard overdrawn line, looking like an Instagram filter.
Plus, it’s less maintenance, to keep checking if a dark red, is staying put throughout dinner or drinks. You don’t need anything special to try this look at home, just your lipstick and a cotton bud (Q-tip), my favourites, the once’s I’m using here and in my pro kit, are the mini ones from Muji, amazing! They have less fluff on them!
First start by simply putting on your lipstick like you usually would, then take your cotton bud and begin to rub over the edges, like I’m doing in the photos.
Add a tad more lipstick if you need, and keep rubbing and blending the edges. Now when it comes to the center parts of the top and bottom, start to cheat and push the product out, giving yourself fuller lips in the center.
That’s it, you can see here, the center image is before any blurring, and the right one is after. My lips look, less harsh but fuller at the same time!
These are a few examples showing this style with a dark berry shade for winter and a light summer pink, and the red on the right.
A very simple tutorial, but often the most subtle changes can make a bit difference!
