Review: Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Range

The Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing foundation and range is top-notch quality tech, I was very impressed! Shiseido are not messing about here guys. I first dived into this range through the liquid concealer as I kept seeing beauty editor Alessandra Steinherr talking about it, I tried it in the heat of summer and was hooked.

I found a sale with the gel concealer and the foundation and thought, ok now is the time to do it and try all the range. I have been playing with these products now for over two months; I am really pleased with them both, keep reading for all my thoughts!

Shiseido’s Claims

Bellow is the foundation claims from the website; the concealer ones are quite similar. The claims are entirely out of this world, facial movement technology to maintain a just-applied look. Who doesn’t want that!

I remember someone on Instagram saying they had been on a zoom workshop with the people at Shiseido.They use the same technology as their popular sunscreens, to help it stay put, resist sweat oil, and facial movements. Very clever technology indeed, and you can feel it.

TIP: Although it has 30 SPF, please do not rely on this as your SPF you will not apply enough of the foundation per application to get this amount of sun protection.

Shade Range

The foundations have 30 shades and both concealer types have 16 shade options.

Packaging

The foundation has a cool locking function by twisting the top open and closed. The liquid concealer that I got first has the red line warn off now but no biggie. Lastly, the gel stick has a great weighty metal feel outer packaging, which I love.

Application & Wear

The liquid concealer is currently my number one almost non-creasing under eye concealer, (there will never be a 100% no creases unless you don’t move your face). This concealer has overtaken my love for the NARS radiant creamy concealer, and that’s a cult product. I find it gives a bit more coverage than the NARS one and it set’s in place better too, but still just as great to blend out.

The gel stick one is not as great under the eyes, better for around the nose and on spots, as the setting aspect to it is not as strong, therefore it moves under the eyes a little more.

The foundation is stunning, blends like a dream and most importantly, continues to look good throughout the day, I judged this by how it’s looking around my pores because some foundations id rather not as it makes the skin look worse and what’s the point of that.

Overall thoughts on Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Range

Recommend and would purchase the foundation and liquid concealer again for sure. This foundation is not a glowy one but I quite agree with the claim of a natural finish, and on the coverage side I also agree it’s medium/buildable. For me, when I do wear foundation it’s one pump max and then sheer it out on application.
